In January, Google will roll out an update that should put an end to network problems that users experience. Those problems have been occurring for some since the December 2021 security update. Google has therefore paused the rollout of that update.
Google Pixel 6 fix on the way
Google has more announced about the issues that some of the Pixel 6 users have been experiencing for several weeks. Since the delayed December security patch, the phone has lost signal for some, so messages and phone calls don’t always come in properly.
Google is now saying that the rollout of the December update will be on hold until a fix is finally made during January. That update should end the network issues and it also rolls out the improvements that were originally part of the December update. Google is not yet sharing when the specific update is expected.
What can you do now?
Although Google has pressed the pause button, there are a lot of Pixel 6 phones where the December update is already installed automatically. Those experiencing problems can do nothing but bring their phone back to the November patch. The easiest way to do this is via the Android Flash Tool, but your phone will be factory reset anyway. So make sure your data is backed up.
