This is how you use Google Lens with an existing photo
It is also possible to use the function with an existing photo that you have previously taken. You use the Google Photos app for this. Here’s how to use Google Lens:
- Open the photo in the Google Photos app on your iPhone;
- Tap the Google Lens icon at the bottom;
- At the bottom you will now find information about the subject of the photo. Swipe up to find out more.
The smart search function works in several ways. It doesn’t just work to find out more about something. It is also possible to carry out other practical actions with it.
For example, if you point your camera at a business card, you can save the contact information directly in your address. If you focus on a book, you will see reviews. With a photo of a poster for an event you can save it in your agenda.
You can also go to a website, request a route, call phone numbers and more. For a long time, Google Lens was only a feature on Google’s own Pixel smartphones. Google Lens has now been available on the iPhone for a few years now.
