According to a new report, the Google Pixel Watch will have a battery that will last up to a day on a single full charge. According to the same report, the watch takes just over two hours to charge, which is a lot slower than many other smartwatches. Besides the rumor that the watch will get a four-year-old processor, this rumor is unfortunately also not very encouraging.
Previous Rumors
Last April, the news came that the Google Pixel Watch will get a 300mAh battery. This would give the battery of the Pixel Watch more or less the same capacity as that in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. Even more. Now the battery of the Galaxy Watch 4 lasts about 40 hours, and the expectation was that the Pixel Watch would also be able to do this at a minimum. This would mean putting the watch on the charger every few days. However, nothing turns out to be less true.
Battery life up to one day, charging over two hours
According to information from 9to5Google The battery of the Pixel Watch only lasts up to one day on a single charge. In other words, the Pixel Watch should be plugged in every morning or evening. The battery life of one day would be an estimate of Google itself. It must be said that it is not possible to determine in which circumstances the Pixel Watch would last one day. For example, we do not know whether the always-on display was on or off and which other functions were enabled. In addition, we do not know what exactly is meant by ‘up to one day’. For example, it is not clear whether this only concerns the daytime, or whether the night is also included. According to the report, the old processor of the Pixel Watch will also not contribute to a longer battery life.
Google Pixel Watch availability
At Google I/O 2022, Google already showed some images of the Google Pixel Watch. In these images we see, among other things, a round design with rounded edges. We also see a crown on the side of the watch. This will presumably allow you to navigate through the watch’s interface. The Pixel Watch is also made of shiny stainless steel and has a circular design.
The watch will be released this fall and will probably be available on a limited basis and in only a few countries. It is not yet known whether the watch will also come to the Netherlands and/or Belgium.
