How can I lower the normal socket voltage from 230 Volt to 220 Volt?

I want to do this to protect a very good working old Marantz Amplifier PM310 that only needs 220 volts. It concerns an old Marantz amplifier PM-310, with a matching separate Marantz Tuner. Both devices work perfectly when I use the 230 Volt connection at home. The amplifier is fused with a 0.63 Ampere Fast 250 Volt fuse. Is it necessary to protect my amplifier (and tuner, which does not have a fuse) against the (too) high voltage of 230 Volt, because I wish to be able to use this amplifier and tuner for a long time? And in what way and parts could I achieve the protection?

Answer

Hi Hank,

For most appliances, no adjustment is necessary as a result of the increase in the mains voltage from 220V to 230V that was introduced a few years ago.

In this amplifier, however, there is built-in a possibility to kiss this. The service manual shows how.

Kind regards,
Luc.
