I don’t want to throw away the pack (lump) of sugar, but make it into granules again. How is that possible or not?

Maybe not a very scientific answer but very easy to do: tap it with a big hammer.
I use it for crumbling gingerbread cookies. I would put the sugar in a plastic bag, cover it with a towel and use a meat hammer for example.
You can also try drying in an oven (max 100 °C).
