I am a beekeeper and want to make my own sugar solution. 1 for wintering (3kg sugar : 2 l water), another for oxalic acid treatment (1kg sugar : 1 l water).
How do I make the right calculation for the right quantities? After all, if I sprinkle 3kg of granulated sugar in 2l of water, I have far too much and this is in any case not correct. Do I have to bring up molar mass etc. again or is there a simple formula? Long ago learned…
Answer
Best,
The easiest is if you have a measuring cup that you know: when I fill it I have 1l. Add the required amount of sugar and top up the rest with water until you have 1l. Finished!
(For the wintering solution you can then make one liter twice by starting with 1.5 kg of sugar each time or use a larger measuring cup or bottle of 2 l)
