Have a long conversation in WhatsApp that you want to forward to a friend? You can send a number of screenshots, or one very large one! In this article you can read how to take long screenshots (or: screenshots).
Long screenshots on your iPhone: why?
Have you found a delicious recipe and would you like to forward it to a friend? Or want to show a long WhatsApp conversation to one of your besties? What are you doing then? Send multiple screenshots! But that’s actually very inconvenient. We’ll show you a much easier solution!
It is possible to make one extra long screenshot on your iPhone and to send all the information in one file or photo. This can be done in several ways: via the iPhone options themselves or with an app.
Full screen display on your iPhone
Apple has built in a handy feature when you take a screenshot. It is possible to make a screenshot ‘full page’. Do you have a long, important email and would you rather not forward the original email? Then follow the step-by-step plan below.
Taking long screenshots on iPhone
- Take a screenshot by pressing the power button and the volume up button (on an iPhone with a home button, press the home button and the power button);
- Tap the screenshot at the bottom left of the screen;
- Tap on ‘full page’ at the top and your iPhone will create a PDF file of the email;
- Tap the ‘share’ icon (square with the arrow) to send the file via AirDrop, WhatsApp or another app.
Combine multiple screenshots into one long one
Although taking a long screenshot in the latest version of Android has been possible for a while, our iPhones unfortunately do not support this (yet). Fortunately, there are iOS apps that combine several screenshots into one long screenshot. An example is Stitch It†You first take several screenshots of all the information you want to send in the normal way. You can then use the app as follows:
- open the app;
- Tap the plus sign;
- Select the photos you want to ‘stitch’ together;
- Adjust the order as desired. You do this by moving the three bars next to the screenshots;
- If you tap on one of your selected images, you can crop it. Make sure that the letters or pictures of the two places are exactly on top of each other;
- Paste it;
- You can then share the captured screenshot via the app.
