Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 TWS earbuds with ANC announced

You could already read the Huawei Freebuds Pro review on pcactive.nl and now Huawei has announced the successor. It is not entirely surprising that the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 of which you can read the review on this site soon. The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 feature a unique ‘Ultra-hearing True Sound Dual Driver’ system that intelligently works two drivers together for the best audio performance. It uses a planar diaphragm, usually only available in high-end earbuds, which produces clear and precise highs and overtones. A dynamic driver with four magnets provides mid and lower frequencies for powerful bass. The result is a wide audio range, from 14Hz to 48kHz ([1] , with accurate sound details. The Huawei Freebuds Pro 2 were also developed in collaboration with audio brand Devialet.

Auto tuning
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2’s ‘Triple Adaptive EQ’ technology can automatically match the sound according to the structure of the ear canal, the position of the earbuds and the volume, providing a personalized sound in real time. In combination with the LDAC high-resolution audio codec protocol, the audio is further optimized for an ultra-high definition listening experience. With the HWA and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certifications, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 ensure that users experience sound in the best possible way, no matter where they are or at what volume they play music.

noise reduction
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 provide users with advanced active noise cancellation. Compared to its predecessor, the ‘Triple Mic ANC System’ increases the average depth of ANC by an industry-leading 15% [2]† At the same time, the ‘Intelligent Dynamic ANC 2.0’ accurately detects the external sound environment and selects an appropriate noise canceling mode to eliminate noise for optimal listening pleasure. For example, wind and environmental noise in an airplane or on a bicycle is reduced thanks to the new hidden windproof design.
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2’s new Pure Voice noise reduction technology enables clear and quiet phone calls. It is based on a 4-Mic Call Noise Cancellation system combined with Huawei’s exclusive Deep Nural Network (DNN) noise reduction algorithm [3]† This ensures that human voices are accurately captured while improving noise reduction, so users experience clear sound quality for voice – or video calls, no matter where they are.

Smarter audio connections
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 provide a good connection to two devices for automatic switching between calls. The dual connection function works with smartphones, tablets, PCs and wearables from Huawei as well as devices for Android, iOS and Windows smart systems. At the ‘Audio Connection Centre’ [4] users see the last ten devices the earbuds were connected to for easy reconnection. Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 are also automatically detectable on the Super Device screen of Huawei PCs, tablets and phones and are easy to connect via drag and drop.

All-round performance
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 are small and powerful. They are equipped with a battery for a long life – with ANC activated that is up to four hours and a total of 18 hours with the case. When ANC is turned off, the listening time is 6.5 hours and a total of 30 hours with the case [5]†
For mobile users, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro earbuds also support reverse charging using the case [6] via phone or tablet. In addition, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 IP54 are splash-proof [7]so that rain and sweat do not affect the performance of the earbuds.

Prices and availability
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 are available in the colors: Silver Frost and Ceramic White and the latest color Silver Blue. They will be available from July 13, 2022 for €199.99. Huawei also offers a pre-order promotion from June 29 to August 12: order the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 and receive a Huawei Band 7 wearable worth € 59.99 for free. They are available at the Huawei Store, Amazon, Bol.com, Belsimpel, Coolblue, BCC and MediaMarkt.

[1] The data for the frequency range comes from the Huawei Lab. The bluetooth connection requires LDAC HD encoding and decoding and a transmission speed above 960 kbps is required.

[7] IP54 dust and water resistance only applies to the earbuds themselves and does not apply to the charging case. This device is splash, dust and water resistant under normal conditions. It has been tested under controlled laboratory conditions and has been given an IP54 rating according to IEC standard 60529. Splash, dust and water resistance are not permanent, and performance may deteriorate with daily use. Do not charge the device in a humid environment. Liquid damage is not covered by the warranty.
