I am in possession of 4 speakers 250 Watt (8ohm) I can switch these 2 by 2 (becomes 4, ohm) my far, eyes now become less if I control it with 2×200 watts

Hello dear expert,

I have had a sound system of 4 speakers of 250 Watts 8 ohms on a carnival car for a few years now with an amplifier of 2×200 Watts 8 ohms, but now the volume is always just not enough.

The speakers are looped through 2 by 2 by means of built-in plugs and therefore go from 8 ohms to 4 ohms.

How can I best get more sound out of the installation? by adding an amplifier of eg 2×250 Watts 8 ohms, and then two boxes per amplifier? Or do I not achieve anything with that, what do you think is the best solution?

I already got a solution just put 4×500 watts on it but that is not an option.

I hope you and your expertise have a solution.

You should not do what you propose: if you put your speakers in parallel, the load for the amplifier will indeed become 4 instead of 8 ohms. But firstly, this is not without danger for the amplifier, and worse: it solves absolutely nothing – the available 200 Watts are now divided between the two speakers. So don’t!
If it has to be louder and you have, as you say, 4 speakers of 8 ohms that can handle 250 Watts, then the only solution is to buy a second amplifier. In the style of the recent discussion: the sound level will increase with …3 dBA with a second amplifier 🙂

Kind regards
