Important: SET SOS emergency notification via satellite on an iPhone

Since the iPhone 14 (Plus) and iPhone 14 Pro (MAX) it is possible to approach emergency services via a satellite connection. This function is intended for emergencies at locations where no mobile or wifin network is available.

Create medical ID

  • Open the Health App

  • Go to Medical ID and choose ‘Create medical ID’
  • Have you already created one? Then tap ‘Change’

When using SOS emergency notification, your SOS contacts are also informed immediately that you have called the emergency services. You can assign these people to your medical ID, tap ‘Add SOS contact person’ (more info). Then the medical ID is ready, confirm by tapping ‘ready’ to view an overview of your file.

When you have linked the medical ID and the contacts for emergencies, you can almost use the SOS emergency notification via satellite. First you have to try out the demo of SOS emergency notification. If you don’t do this, you can do the satellite function not to use. You can do this via:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Navigate to ’emergency notification’.
  3. Scroll down and tap ‘Try Demo off’.
