Light and darkness for Einstein's theory of relativity - a lesson in good science.
It seems amazing that 100 years ago Albert Einstein did not receive the Nobel Prize in Physics for his theory of relativity. Since 1917 he had been nominated for the prize several times and by many colleagues. In 1922 he received it retrospectively for 1921 - albeit for a revolutionary contribution to the beginning of quantum physics from 1905, and rightly so. In 1921 the Nobel Prize Committee in Stockholm had not been able to bring itself to a decision.
