ING is the first Dutch bank to support Apple’s messaging service iMessage. From now on, you can easily send payment requests to each other via the ING iMessage app.
ING iMessage app lets you quickly send payment requests
The update that the ING iMessage app makes available can now be downloaded from the App Store. After installing the update of the ING Banking app, you can also install the ING app for iMessage via the Messages app. For this, your iPhone must be running iOS 10 or higher. How to use the new ING iMessage app:
- Install the update for the ING Banking app;
- Open the Messages app and choose a conversation;
- Tap the gray arrow and select the App Store icon;
- Tap the four gray dots at the bottom left of the screen;
- Choose ‘Store’;
- Select ‘Management’;
- They turn the switch behind the Banking app to green.
After installation you can easily send a payment request to someone or a group conversation. Handy if you still have money left after a night out with friends. Without leaving the Messages app, enter the amount, choose a category (pizza, film, drink) and the ING app creates a special url. The others can click on this link to be taken directly to a page where they can transfer the amount due to your account.
ING is always quick when it comes to improvements to the Banking app. For example, this is the first Dutch bank with its own iMessage app and you can now also use Siri to compose a payment request via your voice. At the time, the bank was also one of the first to introduce support for the Touch ID sensor.
