Apps for Android devices are available in the Google Play Store. This digital store can also be used via computer.
Play Store
There are apps on an Android device. To use more apps, download them from the Play Store. This digital store is available as an app on tablets and smartphones. But you can also download apps for mobile devices via the computer. The apps are then placed on the tablet or smartphone as soon as the device has an internet connection. Handy if your tablet or phone is somewhere else for a while. Or if you prefer to choose a nice app on a larger screen.
Install apps via PC
Install apps via PC on a mobile device like this:
- Open the website on the PC play.google.com.
- Click the blue button at the top right login.
- Are there already Google accounts on the list? Then click on your account. Enter your password and click login. Are there no accounts? Enter your Google email address and click Next one. Enter your password and click login.
- Click on the left apps.
- Click in the ‘Search’ bar at the top of the screen, type the name of the app you are looking for (or a description) and click on the magnifying glass.
- The search results appear. Click on an app to read more about it. If you hold down the Ctrl button on the keyboard, the description opens in a new tab. Handy if you want to compare multiple apps!
- click on to install.
- A new window will open. Under ‘Choose a device’ you should see the type number of your device. If you have multiple Android devices, you may need to select the correct device. To do this, click on the name of the device. A menu expands with all connected devices. Click on the correct device.
- Click at the bottom of the window to install.
- You will get the message ‘[Naam app] will be installed on your device soon.” click on OK.
The app is installed on the device as soon as the tablet or phone is connected to the internet.
