Do you ever get nauseous when using your iPhone while you’re in the car? Then we have good news, because there is a solution for this from iOS 18. This does not only apply to motion sickness, but to travel sickness in general. The new function should also prevent you from getting nauseous on a bus, train or other vehicle. We explain to you how the new feature in iOS 18 works.

This is how iOS 18 prevents motion sickness

In iOS 18, the new anti-motion sickness feature is added to your iPhone’s Control Center. Do you enable the feature? Then black dots will appear on the side of the screen. These dots follow the movement of the car or other vehicles. Your body feels and sees the direction in which the car is moving, so that you no longer get carsick or nauseous.

Apple is bringing the new anti-motion sickness feature not only to iOS 18, but also to iPadOS 18. This means that you will soon be able to use the iPad without experiencing motion sickness. The function works the same way on the tablet, where you will also see black dots on the side of the screen. Just like with the iPhone, you can find the feature on the iPad in the Control Panel.

This is when the update will appear

The new features will probably only be available with iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. Apple will announce the updates on June 10, when the annual WWDC starts. It will then take a few months before the update appears. Apple usually releases the series of major updates in September, when the new iPhones are also released. This means that the anti-motion sickness feature in iOS 18 will unfortunately not arrive in time for the summer holidays.
