Since the launch of Liquid Glass for iPhone, iPad and Mac, Apple has been continuously tinkering with the design of the new interface. With iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2, Apple has expanded Liquid Glass in three new ways.
For example, you can adjust the clock on the lock screen, the pop-up menus have been adjusted and you can use the new spirit level in the measuring app. In this way, Apple tries to improve the universal Liquid Glass effect on all its devices with user feedback.
Adjust Liquid Glass clock on lock screen
- Activate the lock screen and place your finger on the screen
- Edit mode is activated
- Tap ‘Customize’
- Select the clock
- Choose ‘Glass’
- Use the bottom slide switch to adjust the intensity

You can choose to display the clock very transparently or slightly matte for better readability. This is useful if you have a busy background and the clock was difficult to read.
Spirit level in Measuring app refreshed
The Meet app now uses Liquid Glass with an update to the built-in spirit level function. As you move your iPhone, the glass design responds in real-time with the numbers and grid on the screen. This ensures more accurate measurements and a more visually appealing result, perfect for DIY enthusiasts. Liquid Glass thus further expands to other system apps.

New animations for menus and controls
Liquid Glass has introduced the smooth and bouncy animations that Apple presented at WWDC in iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2. Popup menus and controls now move with real fluidity and playfulness, exactly as intended. Click here for an example.
These innovations apply system-wide, including in third-party apps that use Apple’s APIs, ensuring a consistent and fun iPhone experience. It adds a fresh dynamic to daily use.
