The iPad mini 6 had a major hardware problem with the screen, but that has been resolved with the iPad mini 7. The tablet is no longer affected jelly scrolling.
iPad mini 7
Apple has announced a new generation of the iPad mini! The iPad mini 7 has received an update especially under the hood, because the device runs on the A17 Pro chip. That is a big step, because the iPad mini 6 still had to make do with the A15 Bionic chip. The small tablet works with Apple Intelligence thanks to the new processor. In addition, Apple has made changes to the screen of the iPad mini 7.
With the iPad mini 6, many users had problems with the tablet’s screen. They complained about ‘jelly scrolling‘. The screen on one side refreshes faster than the other, due to a difference in the refresh rate. This is especially disturbing once you notice it. According to Apple it is jelly scrolling normal with LCD displays, but the hardware problem has reportedly been resolved with the iPad mini 7 screen.
Renewed screen
According to rumors, Apple has made changes to the screen of the iPad mini 7, which jelly scrolling should be reduced or prevented. The problem with jelly scrolling is especially visible when you use the iPad mini 6 in portrait mode. Apple has therefore adjusted the orientation of the screen on the iPad mini 7. This way, the difference in refresh rate is not visible when you use the tablet vertically.
This is an important change in the hardware of the iPad mini 7, which Apple has not yet officially said anything about. The company has not announced any changes to the screen of the new iPad mini. On paper, the iPad mini 7 has the same LCD screen as the iPad mini 6, but improvements appear to have been made in the hardware. Good news, because you no longer have this problem with the tablet jelly scrolling.
Release of the iPad mini 7
Apple has made few other changes to the iPad mini 7. The tablet has virtually the same design as the sixth generation, with an 8.3-inch display and colors such as starlight, purple and space gray. New is the blue version, which replaces the pink version of the iPad mini 6. The tablet now comes standard with 128 GB of storage space and reportedly has 8 GB of RAM.
Unfortunately, the fact that the iPad mini 7 has more storage space is also reflected in the price, because Apple charges 609 euros for the small tablet. That’s a lot of money, but you get an extremely powerful tablet that will last for years to come. Especially with the support for Apple Intelligence, the iPad mini 7 is a device for the future.
