iPhone 14: this is how you take different screenshots with your brand new smartphone

Have you managed to get your hands on the brand new iPhone 14 (Pro)? Or do you stick with a slightly older iPhone that is compatible with iOS 16? OMT editor Sabine Schults will update you on the options you have for taking screenshots.

With the iPhone 14 it is of course also possible to make a ‘normal’ screenshot as you are used to. You can also still take a long screenshot, as was introduced in iOS 14. In addition, with the arrival of iOS 16, a new Copy and deleteoption added.

iPhone 14: Take screenshots

The buttons of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have not changed compared to its predecessors. That means taking a screenshot remains the same as you are probably already used to. You can take a ‘normal’ screenshot by pressing and holding the top volume button at the same time as the power button.

You can take a long screenshot or scrolling screenshot by going to Safari and visiting the URL you want to capture. Take a screenshot the ‘normal’ way and then open its small view. Now you see the options Screen and full page in picture. Choose here Full page. Then press Ready and then before Save PDF to Files.

New copy and delete option

If you have taken a screenshot, you will briefly see a small representation of it in the bottom left of the screen. If you tap on that view, you can edit the image directly. Now there is also a handy Copy and deleteoption added.

Press . at the top left Ready. Now the option appears in red Copy and delete. You can then paste the image into a WhatsApp conversation, for example, while the image does not stay on your iPhone 14 (or other iPhone with iOS 16) forever.

You can also set a shortcut to take a screenshot without having to press a single button. Go to the Settings from your iPhone 14 and press Accessibility. Then press Touch and scroll down. Open Tap back and adjust Double tap (or at Triple tap) the option Screenshot in. The moment you now tap the back of your iPhone 14 two (or three) times, a screenshot is taken.
