According to a Cirp study (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners), iPhone owners are buying a new device faster and faster. In December 2024, 36 percent of the iPhone owners who switched had their iPhone two years or shorter. A year earlier this was still 31 percent.

That is not the only thing that is going on. Because even with the users who keep their iPhone longer you can see a decrease. For example, the number of users who have their iPhone have been down to 33 percent for three years or more.

This shift is quite striking. Because in previous years, iPhone owners did for longer with their smartphone. CIRP says that the amount of iPhone owners who upgrade after two years is back to the 2020 level.
