‘iPhone SE 3 gets 5G and A14 chip, will appear in the first half of 2022’

The third generation of the iPhone SE seems to be a very nice upgrade for anyone looking for an affordable smartphone.

‘iPhone SE 3 gets 5G and A14 chip’

Every September, Apple unveils the latest and greatest iPhone of that year, with a hefty price tag and advanced features. Every few years an iPhone also appears for a completely different target group: since 2016, the iPhone SE has focused on people who do not want to spend more than 600 euros or more on a phone.

DigiTimes now comes with good news for this group of iPhone users. The third generation of the iPhone SE is expected to be released in the first half of 2022. The sources state that the device will have the same design as the iPhone SE that appeared in 2020, but that a lot changes on the inside.

The device would be equipped with the A14 chip, the same chip that is now in the iPhone 12. In addition, the SE is said to support 5G, which makes it a very powerful device for its price range. With this SE, Apple would focus on making ‘the cheapest 5G phone ever’, in order to strengthen the company’s position in the growing 5G market.

Would you rather wait for an iPhone SE with a more modern design? Then, according to other rumors, you will have to wait at least until 2023. Apple would already be internally testing a future SE, with a front-filling screen and small hole in the display for the front camera. It would be the first iPhone with such a ‘Hole-punch Display’ as an alternative to the notch.

iPhone SE in 2021 still worth it

The strength of Apple’s SE line is still proving itself with the iPhone SE that appeared last year. Last month we tested the device again and concluded that it is still an excellent entry-level iPhone at a good price. Do you want to know more about this review?
