Apple will launch the iPhone SE 4 and the iPad Air 2025 in early 2025. These functions will come to the new devices!
Major update for the iPhone SE
Now that the iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, iPad Pro and iPad Air 2024 have been released, Apple has already had the most releases of the year. This means that we can slowly look towards 2025. Rumors predict that the iPhone SE 4 and the iPad Air 2025 will be the first devices that Apple will release next year. The iPhone SE in particular is getting a major update, because the phone takes over many functions from the iPhone 14.
Apple is finally saying goodbye to the home button with the iPhone SE 4, which we still see on the iPhone SE 3. Instead, the device gets Face ID, which makes the screen larger. The iPhone SE 4 has a 6.1-inch OLED screen, just like the iPhone 14. Major changes are also being made under the hood, because the phone runs on the A18 chip. This means that even the cheapest iPhone will have support for Apple Intelligence.
Apple is working on iPad Air 2025
In addition to the iPhone SE 4, Apple will also release the new generation of the iPad Air in early 2025. The iPad Air was first released this year in two sizes, you can now choose from an 11- and a 13-inch version. Previously, only the iPad Pro was available in these dimensions, so you no longer need a more expensive Pro for a larger display. Apple is expected to re-release the iPad Air 2025 with an 11- and 13-inch screen.
Furthermore, no changes to the design of the tablet are expected. Apple is mainly making changes to the hardware, for example the iPad 2025 will have a new processor. The iPad Air 2024 runs on the M2 chip, with the next iPad Air this may be the M3 or M4 chip. We are already seeing the latter with the iPad Pro 2024. It is not yet known what other changes Apple will implement.
New products next month
According to Apple expert Mark Gurman, Apple plans to release the iPad Air and the iPhone SE 2025 early next year. That’s surprising, because the iPad Air 2024 was released later, appearing in May. There is therefore a chance that Apple will release two generations of the iPad Air within one year. The release may be in March, for example, the iPhone SE 2022 was released on March 18. There is a good chance that we will see a similar release date with the iPhone SE 4.
The iPad Air 2025 and iPhone SE 4 are probably the first devices we will see next year, but Apple will also release a number of products in 2024. The iPad mini 2024, iPad 2024, MacBook Pro 2024, iMac and Mac mini will probably be released this month. Apple will likely announce these devices at an event in late October.
