19. My Child Lebensborn
The Lebensborn children are being looked at with a crooked eye because they were conceived by the Nazis during the time of World War II to bring more people with blond hair and blue eyes to the earth. In the game you play an adoptive parent of a Lebensborn child. The game thus tells an important story.
18. Kingdom Rush Vengeance
Do you want to be the bad guy for once? Then you are at the right place at Kingdom Rush Vengeance. Basically, the game is again a strong tower defense title as you are used to from this series, where you build towers to outsmart the opponent. But this time you are on the other side.
17. Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition
Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition is a special version of the successful console game. The Pocket Edition has been completely remade with some strange looking characters. Still, this makes it possible to play the entire adventure on your smartphone and that works surprisingly well.
16. Oddmar
This cool platformer is very reminiscent of Rayman Legends, both in style and in the insanely detailed finish. In the game you play as a viking who has to save his village. The game controls very well and is full of fun challenges.
15. The Room: Old Sins
In this puzzle game you end up in an old dollhouse in a dusty attic. With special lenses in front of your eyes you get access to the rooms and corridors of this house. Just like the previous games, your goal is to escape and enjoy it again.
14. Holedown

13. Brawl Stars
The new game from the creators of Clash Royale focuses on teams. Three against three players compete in different modes to be the winner. With different characters and weapons, the game manages to stay fun for a long time.
12. Pocket City
Build your own city in Pocket City, the best SimCity game for smartphones. Although the possibilities are initially quite limited, you soon get more options to create a true metropolis full of modern gadgets.
11. Alto’s Odyssey
Couldn’t get enough of Alto’s Adventure? Then we have good news, because Alto’s Odyssey is mainly more of the same. That’s okay, because the game plays wonderfully and is also beautiful to watch. A number of new elements, such as sliding against walls, keep the game fresh.
10. Command & Conquer: Rivals
While this isn’t the Command & Conquer game people had hoped for, it is an excellent smartphone game. Two players compete in short matches to destroy each other’s base. It is great that the pots are fun right away and you can use quite a bit of strategy despite the small card and little time.
9. Piffle
In Piffle, your goal is to smash the blocks that slowly slide from top to bottom before they fill the screen. You do that with piffles: small cat heads. In the countless levels, new tricky elements are introduced each time, which keeps the game fun. Even if you try to get three stars in each level.
8. Chuchel
Chuchel is an insanely fun puzzle game for young and old. The game is about the creature Chuchel who wants to eat a cherry, but this fruit is always just out of reach. You lend him a hand. The game plays like an interactive cartoon where every interaction causes something fun.
7. PUBG Mobile
Are you looking for excitement? Then you’ve come to the right place at PUBG Mobile. How much the most attention goes to Fortnite, PUBG is the game that made the battle royale genre big. Makes sense, because PUBG is very good. One game you drive through the field shooting, while in the other game you lie still in a bush with sweaty hands for minutes. Both playing styles are possible and fun.
6. Gone Home
If you are looking for a nice story in a short game, then you have to go to Gone Home. As soon as the main character arrives at her parental home, it appears that no one is home. It’s up to you to investigate what happened in this first person puzzle game. Basically, that means looking at every object in every room looking for hints.
5. Donut County
In Donut County, a raccoon orders donuts via an app, but strangely enough he only gets the holes. It is up to the player to swallow everything with those holes in the different levels.
It starts with small objects, but soon the hole gets bigger and bigger until entire buildings disappear into it. Donut County combines this fun game idea with a lot of humor and a fun style.
4. Stardew Valley
In Stardew Valley, you see to it that a farm is restored to its former glory. That means clearing the land, planting crops and harvesting again. However, that’s not all, because there is also an area to discover with a village full of residents that you can get acquainted with. This results in a very fun and relaxing game.
3. Thumper: Pocket Edition
No game has been as intense as Thumper: Pocket Edition this year. You control a space beetle, which glides over a track at lightning speed and has to take turns and jump over obstacles. The speed is quickly increased, after which you allow yourself to be swallowed up by the images and music in purest concentration.
2. Florence
In Florence, a young woman meets a handsome cello player. A relationship soon blossoms between this duo. As a player you follow this relationship. Their beautiful and less pleasant moments are made clear through smart forms of interaction. That makes for a unique and beautiful story, about love and smartphones.
1. Fortnite
Of course Fortnite comes first. When creator Epic Games decided to bring its hit for PC and game consoles to smartphones, few people expected it to work so well. Fortnite for iOS is the same game, looks nice and also plays well.
In Fortnite you get off a flying bus with a hundred people. Once you land on the play island, find weapons and build objects. Your goal is to be last. Are you dead? Then you just try again. How many times have you made it to Victory Royale this year?
