Users should be able to trust that their household robot is intelligent enough to prevent the robot from making a mess itself, complete the job without interruptions and clean according to the user’s personal preferences. iRobot today announced two of its smartest and most powerful models: the flagship Roomba Combo j9+ robot vacuum and mop robot and the Roomba j9+ robot vacuum. The Roomba Combo j9+ robot vacuum cleaner is the successor to the iRobot Roomba Combo i8+.

The Roomba Combo j9+ robot vacuum and mop is designed to tackle dirt, pet hair and messes with precision. The 4-step cleaning system and Dual Rubber Brushes provide 100% stronger suction and mopping with constant downward pressure. iRobot’s DRI (Dry Rug Intelligence) means users can trust their Roomba Combo j9+ to keep even shag rugs clean and dry. This is possible thanks to the unique Auto-Retract Mopping System that lifts the mop to the top of the robot when a carpet is detected to prevent wet spots.
Advanced iRobot OS technology creates an accurate floor plan of the house 7x faster and automatically names rooms. It also ensures that the Roomba Combo j9+ is able to recognize and maneuver around objects such as shoes, cords, backpacks, clothing, pets, and even your pet’s accidents.

Roomba Combo j9+ Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock
The new, stylish Clean Base Auto-fill Dock further supports the Roomba Combo j-series robot vacuum cleaner and robot mop. The station can empty dirt for up to 60 days and refill fluid for up to 30 days for autonomous cleaning. The Clean Base Auto-fill Dock is made from premium materials with a wood-like top that serves as a usable surface, and also includes a place to store extra bags and mop pads. iRobot’s quietest Clean Base Dock yet has been carefully designed to produce less noise while emptying dirt and dust and refilling fluid.

According to iRobot, the Roomba j9+ is their most powerful and smartest robot vacuum cleaner. It is designed for deep cleaning of larger homes and for households with furry pets. Based on years of research, the Roomba j9+ is designed with 100% more suction power, a longer-lasting battery and more features for pets. With Carpet Boost technology, a 3-step cleaning system and Dual Rubber Brushes, the robot automatically detects the floor type and adjusts the suction power per floor surface.
Powered by iRobot OS and Imprint Smart Mapping technology, the Roomba Combo j9+ and Roomba j9+ understand more voice commands than other robot vacuum brands. Users can pair their robot with Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri and tell their robot to clean specific rooms or near specific objects such as sofas, counters, dining tables or the stove. With PrecisionVision navigation, Roomba Combo j9+ and Roomba j9+ can see exactly what’s in front of them and if there’s an object to avoid, they’ll ignore it. Based on the user’s habits, home, and even the seasons, iRobot combines OS insights and technology to create a cleaning experience tailored to your needs and preferences. Users are in control with the iRobot Home app. With iRobot OS 7.0, iRobot introduces the new digital technologies Dirt Detective and SmartScrub for the Roomba Combo j9+ and Roomba j9+.

Dirt Detective brings:
• Overview of how clean each room is: Users of the Roomba Combo j9+ and Roomba j9+ can now consult their iRobot Home app to assess room-by-room how clean their home is. iRobot OS tracks cleaning tasks and previous dirty spots in the home to assess which rooms need the most attention during the next cleaning.
• Prioritization of dirty areas: With Dirt Detective, the Roomba Combo j9+ and Roomba j9+ can now prioritize where to vacuum and/or mop. Based on which rooms were last cleaned and which areas are often extra dirty, Dirt Detective automatically ensures that the dirtiest rooms are cleaned.
• Smart cleaning preferences: Dirt Detective creates a customized cleaning plan based on room and floor type, automatically giving high-traffic areas a deeper cleaning and less-used areas a lighter cleaning.

Dirt detective ensures that the robot can map your house and use that information to start cleaning. This way, users don’t have to think about when to put the robot back to work. The robot learns from previous cleaning tasks to automatically prioritize dirtier rooms and adjusts settings such as suction power, cleaning routes and mopping.
