Is your MacBook getting very hot since the last update? Then try these solutions

Since the update to macOS Catalina 10.15.7, has your MacBook (Pro) become very hot and the fans keep running? You’re not the only one. Some users solved the problems by re-signing their Apple ID.

iPhone received several complaints from MacBook users. They report that their MacBook has suddenly become very hot since the most recent update, to macOS Catalina 10.15.7, for no concrete reason. The fans have also been working overtime for some MacBook users since the software update, resulting in noise pollution.

Does this sound familiar? Then try logging out of iCloud (via the Settings and then Apple ID), then logging in to the cloud storage again. Doesn’t this work? According to some Mac users, it pays to sign out your Apple ID completely and then add it again.

If this temporary solution doesn’t help either, you can always try to go back to an earlier (stable) macOS version via Time Machine.

Latest update seems to be the culprit

The problem seems to occur with the regular MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. The common denominator in all complaints is that the problems occur after the most recent macOS update, to version 10.15.7.
