Audio brand JBL has presented four models of wireless in-ears: all with a new target audience: the JBL Tune Flex, JBL Quantum TWS, JBL Live Pro 2 and JBL Reflect Aero.
One of the problems of bluetooth audio compared to wired headsets is sound delay. When you listen to music or podcasts, you don’t notice it. With video you can already notice that image and sound are just not completely in sync. Mobile gamers, an emerging user base according to JBL, are more affected by this delay. The latest bluetooth version (bluetooth 5.2) already suffers less from delay. To completely eliminate the problem, JBL has presented a striking set of in-ears: the JBL Quantum TWS (€ 149).
These earphones, aimed at gamers, have the features you expect. Think of noise suppression, connection option for multiple devices and bluetooth 5.2. It is striking that you get a USB-C dongle with it. This dongle provides a fast wireless connection between the playback device and the headset. That connection is not via bluetooth, but a 2.4 GHz connection. An additional advantage is that the bandwidth of this connection is higher, so that you do not make any concessions on audio quality, which is always the case with bluetooth headphones.
JBL Tune Flex
The brand is also trying to innovate with the JBL Tune Flex (€ 99,-). These earphones offer a choice: whether you have rubber tips to seal off the ambient noise extra well and to concentrate. Or you can wear them without tips, so that you get a bit more of the environment (in a natural way).
Finally, JBL presented the Live Pro 2 (€ 149) and Reflect Aero. The former succeed the Live Pro earphones and (according to JBL) have been improved in particular in the field of noise reduction. The JBL Reflect Aero (€ 149) is particularly suitable for athletes and can withstand a splash of water.
It is not yet entirely clear when which headsets will appear on the market. It is expected that the JBL in-ears all available this summer.
