Rumor: Mac mini with M1X chip
That writes Mark Gurman, reporter for Bloomberg News. In his newsletter he goes on to say that the new Mac mini should replace the current mini computer within ‘a few months’.
The new Mac mini not only gets the new M1X chip, but also has a new design. Furthermore, the improved Mac mini also gets more connection ports.
According to Jon Prosser, by FrontPageTech, the new Mac mini gets a round magnetic connection for the power adapter, and the computer has a ‘top made of plexiglass’. The Mac mini also seems to be a bit flatter than the current generation.
The Mac mini, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air were the first to receive an M1 chip from Apple. The new MacBook Pro will probably also be equipped with an M1X upgrade.
Improved version M1 chip
The M1X chip is an improved version of the current M1 chip that you will find in the MacBook Air, among other things. The real successor to the M1 chip is expected to appear sometime next year. A new MacBook Air will probably also be announced around that time.
Several Apple events this year
According to the latest rumors, Apple has a number of events planned this year. In addition to the iPhone 13, new AirPods, Apple Watch Series 7, Apple is expected to announce improved iPads and MacBooks. With the MacBook Pro The biggest change is probably under the hood. The 16-inch Pro laptop is going to switch to Apple Silicon, instead of an Intel chip.
Recently, for example, the usually reliable Mark Gurman mentioned that the iPhone 13 event will take place in September. Apple would then host two more presentations in October and November to announce new iPads and Macs.
