The Swiss watch brand Hamilton originated in the United States and was an important supplier to the American army during and after World War II. With the Heritage models from the popular Khaki collection, Hamilton takes us into its own history.
Longstanding relationship with the US military
When in 1941, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Americans also joined the Second World War, the soldiers naturally needed good equipment. In order to supply the military, the production of consumer watches was temporarily stopped and all watches produced were shipped to the GIs. More than a million watches were shipped abroad in this way. Even after the war, Hamilton remained the standard issue watch for the American troops.

Khaki Field Mechanical reissue
The Khaki Field Mechanical is the original military Hamilton watch. Now this iconic watch is back in its original form. With a size of 38 mm, it is true to the original. This fine size is compact enough to match all clothing styles, but the clear design also makes it easy to read.
The robust new Khaki Field edition is powered by a powerful hand-wound H-50 movement with 80 hours of power reserve. Because quartz watches didn’t exist in the 1940s…
Modern color combinations with a military touch
In this new collection, Hamilton brings cool color combinations of watch cases in camouflage atmospheres. Earth tones, green and brown bands and green, black or white dials. All Khaki Field watches have the numerals of the original design and ‘night vision’, thanks to the sand colored Super-LumiNova® on the hands.
NATO straps
With a choice of leather or NATO straps, these watches are perfect for both adventurers and office tigers.
The so-called NATO strap has been developed for military watches. This type of strap goes under the watch then loops back to ensure that the watch – even if it catches on something – doesn’t fall off or get lost. It is a simple but ingenious solution that makes military watches extra strong and ensures that they can withstand any challenge.
