Apple unveils new MacBook Pro 2023
Last night, Apple announced the new MacBook Pro 2023 during the Scary Fast event. It is striking that Apple has unveiled a new generation of laptop, because in January this year the company also released a MacBook Pro. New models are now being added, which are even faster and better than the previous MacBook Pros.

The biggest change we see with the MacBook Pro 2023 is the new M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max chip. This is a completely new chip, which means the battery life of the laptop is a lot longer and the laptop is much faster. And perhaps the best news: Apple’s most expensive MacBook has become cheaper. New M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max chip
With the new laptop you can choose from the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max chip. This is striking, because with the MacBook Pro you previously only had a choice of the M2 Pro and the M2 Max chip. The new M3 chip has 8 cores, 10 GPU cores and up to 24 GB of memory. The processor is a lot faster and more efficient than the M2 chip, making the MacBook Pro 2023 even more powerful.
With the laptop you also have the choice between the M3 Pro and the M3 Max chip. These processors are even faster than the standard M3 chip. The M3 Pro has a maximum of 12 cores and even up to 18 GPU cores. With the M3 Max chip, Apple goes one step further with up to 16 cores and no fewer than 40 graphics cores. This means the MacBook Pro 2023 can easily handle the toughest tasks.
With the new processor, the MacBook Pro 2023 is much faster than its predecessor. For example, according to Apple, the M3 Pro chip is about 15 percent faster than the M2 Pro chip. Do you still have a MacBook Pro with the M1 chip? Then the difference is even greater. For example, the CPU of the MacBook Pro 2023 with M3 Max chip is no less than 80 percent faster than the M1 Max chip. With the M2 Max chip that difference is 50 percent.
Longer battery life
The new M3 chips have significantly improved the battery life of the MacBook Pro 2023. With the standard M3 chip, the laptop lasts up to 22 hours. Do you choose the MacBook Pro 2023 with a 14-inch screen and an M3 Pro or an M3 Max chip? Then the battery life is up to 18 hours. With the 16-inch version that is four hours longer, you can use up to 22 hours with a battery.
MacBook Pro 2023 available in a new color
In terms of design, little has changed with the laptop. That is not surprising: the appearance of the MacBook Pro already received a major upgrade in 2021. That year, the MacBook received a notch at the top of the screen for the first time, housing the improved 1080p webcam. Apple has brought this design and camera to the MacBook Pro 2023.
A new color has been added to the MacBook Pro 2023, as the laptop is also released in a space black version. This new color only comes to the MacBook Pro with an M3 Pro or M3 Max chip, Apple is sticking to space gray for the standard M3 chip. In addition, the laptop is available in a silver color. That color is available in all versions.
Screen is even brighter
The screen of the MacBook Pro 2023 has become even brighter with 600 Nits. This makes the screen always easy to read, even when you are working outside in the bright sun. Also useful: the laptop now supports up to two or four external displays. For this you must choose the version with an M3 Pro or M3 Max chip. With the standard M3 chip you are limited to one external screen.
Furthermore, Apple has made no changes to the MacBook Pro 2023. The laptop has the same ports: MagSafe 3, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader and a headphone jack. There are also no wireless changes with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
