March’s Best iOS Games: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night & 4 More

On iPhoned we choose a new top game every month that stands out for us. In addition, we have some other game tips for you. These are the best iOS games of March 2020.

Best iOS Games March 2020

1. iPhone game of the month: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

You may know Castlevania from the new animated series on Netflix, but for most people this name is inextricably linked to a series of much-loved games. The pinnacle of this game series was Symphony of the Night. You can now play this 23-year-old game on your iPhone.

Despite its age, Symphony of the Night is still well worth the effort. You have to get through a confusing start and accept that certain things feel outdated. If you do that, you will get a lot in return.

Knowledge is your best weapon

In this game you play as Alucard, who goes in search of his enemy in Dracula’s castle. Around every corner is a new monster ready to kill you with a few punches. That’s tricky, but every time you die, you’ve learned something new about that enemy, and you’ll do it differently next time. Your knowledge is the best weapon in your arsenal.

It is nice that the game, despite its age, does not compromise on atmosphere. Many details have been incorporated into these pixelated images. Combine that with an excellent soundtrack and Symphony of the Night is a game that grabs you, also in 2020.

2. Spyder (Apple Arcade)

In this Apple Arcade game you play as a little robot spider who has to steal secrets. Thanks to your adhesive feet, every surface can be climbed, except for the places where tape has been placed. While climbing and clambering you have to complete assignments. The game is interesting, among other things, because of the perspective. The world is suddenly very big. Some puzzles don’t seem to be solved at first, but if you look at it from a distance you will see the solution.

Spyder is part of Apple Arcade. This means that the game can only be played with an Apple Arcade subscription.

3. Repulsive

There are plenty of skate games out there already, so luckily Repulsive does things differently. In this game you are a rebel on a hoverboard. In a dystopian future, you must help bring down the surveillance state. At your own pace, you destroy cameras and drones, and discover all kinds of secrets in the world. The controls take some getting used to, but once you have the hoverboard under control, nothing stands in your way.

4. Wide Ocean Big Jacket

Wide Ocean Big Jacket follows two enamored teenagers, Mord and Ben, who embark on a journey with Mord’s aunt and uncle. It’s an interesting game about aging and how it changes you and the world around you. You can’t be good at this game because you mainly follow the story. You do this by choosing from which perspective you want to experience a certain scene.

5. green

Bart Bonte is back with a new puzzle game. After red, black, yellow and blue it is now time for green. By now you know what to expect. Make every screen turn green by tapping, sliding and most importantly thinking smart.
