Minor changes in iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, and macOS Tahoe (#6)

iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26 and tvOS 26 include several major changes, new options and capabilities, including the Liquid Glass design. View our overview of iOS 26 tips for all the possibilities for iPhone and iPad, and with our tips for macOS Tahoe you can get the most out of your Mac.

In addition, the software updates mainly contain a lot of small changes that benefit daily use. This includes: Adaptive Power Mode for iPhone battery, clipboard history for Mac and the updated control panel for Apple Watch. Below you will find the new part of even more minor changes in iOS 26 and other software version 26.

Since iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1, Apple has chosen to align items on the screen, especially text, to the left instead of centered. You can see this in the Settings app, among other things. For example, go to the ‘General’ section and you will see that at the top of the page the text is now aligned to the left instead of in the middle.

Another example is the naming of folders that can be found on the home screen. Once you have opened a folder containing apps, the name of the folder is aligned to the left instead of centered. The effect of opening has also been adjusted since the change to Liquid Glass.

Stop alarm with sliding movement

After all this criticism, Apple has probably decided to change the design. As of iOS 26.1, a stop button is no longer prominently shown under the sleep option, but a sliding switch.

Just like when recording a telephone conversation, you have to slide the stop button to the right to stop the alarm. This will ensure that people are less likely to accidentally stop the alarm instead of hitting snooze.

Swipe on mini music player

Since iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1, you can navigate the Music app faster thanks to the new swipe gestures within the music player. You can skip songs or replay the previous song with a simple swipe on the play bar or album art, without having to press any buttons.

Swipe left on the mini music player to play the next song and swipe right to return. This addition makes operating music more intuitive and fits in well with the new system gestures that Apple has implemented in this update.

Haptic feedback in Phone

Since iOS 26.1, Apple has added a new option in the Phone app settings that allows users to disable haptic feedback when connecting or ending a call. When this switch is turned off, the iPhone no longer vibrates briefly when a call is made or ended. Open Settings â–¸ Apps â–¸ Phone â–¸ turn off the ‘Feel’ option.
