Place folders in the Dock

  • Open the Files app
  • Place your finger on the folder you want to place in the Dock
  • Wait a few moments
  • Tap ‘Bet’ at the bottom of the context menu
  • Choose ‘Dock’

Transparent background for menu bar

In macOS Tahoe, the standard transparent background of the menu bar is no longer shown, so it immediately takes over the desktop background and can therefore sometimes be less clearly visible. If you want the classic menu bar with a background color back, you can enable this via  â–¸ System settings â–¸ Menu bar, where you can activate the ‘Show background of menu bar’ option so that it has a clear background color again.

Volume controls readily available

In iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, new volume controls have been added, making it easier to control audio. You can now adjust the volume directly from the source selector when selecting your playback device, such as AirPods, HomePod or a Bluetooth speaker. This makes managing the sound per device faster and clearer. Thanks to this innovation, you no longer have to go to the general volume slider separately, but you can adjust the level directly next to the selected output source.

  • Open the control panel during music playback
  • Tap the source selector in the Music widget (triangle with waves)
  • Adjust the volume via the slide switch

If you have connected multiple devices, for example via AirPlay, you can adjust the volume for all these devices via the source selector.

iPhone controls in watchOS control panel

Since watchOS 26, the control panel for Apple Watch has been updated and you can also use new shortcuts. Controls you added to Control Center on your paired iPhone can now also appear on your Apple Watch. This offers a lot of new functionality without developers having to create separate watchOS versions. The actions are then performed on the iPhone, but you can easily control them from your watch.
