There will be a new iPhone again this year. But according to rumors, the most expensive iPhone 16 Pro will be slower than the cheaper models. What’s up with that?
The most expensive iPhone 16 Pro becomes slower than cheaper models
Rumors on the internet say that the most expensive model of the iPhone 16 Pro may become slower than the cheaper models. Your first thought may be that this is due to the new chip, but according to DigiTimes that is not the reason.
According to the website, storage is the problem. For example, the most expensive iPhone 16 Pro will probably have 1 TB and even 2 TB of storage. According to DigitTimes, this enormous amount of storage also has a disadvantage.
According to suppliers, Apple is considering switching to a different type of memory (QLC-NAND). This memory has more storage space and is also cheaper. But it also has a disadvantage: the read and write speed is a bit lower.
Compared to the memory that Apple uses in current iPhones, the QLC-NAND memory is also less reliable. The most expensive iPhone 16 Pro could therefore be a bit slower than the cheaper models, if Apple does not make any further optimizations.
The iPhone 16 Pro gets these new functions
You still have to wait a while for the iPhone 16 Pro, but several rumors have already surfaced about the phone’s features. According to the usually reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 16 Pro will have an ultra-wide-angle lens with 48 megapixels.
The ultra-wide-angle lens on current iPhones still consists of a 12-megapixel camera, just like the telephoto lens of the iPhone 15. According to rumors, the iPhone 16 Pro will have two 48-megapixel cameras.
In addition, according to various sources, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a larger screen than the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a 6.27-inch (159.31 mm) screen and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.85-inch (174.06 mm) screen.
