Motorola is working on a new powerhouse of a phone: the Motorola Frontier. The device works with a high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and the 200 MP camera is also an eye-catcher. We already know this.
Motorola Frontier
Motorola wants to reinvent itself as a brand that can do more than make strong midrange and budget smartphones. Lenovo’s subsidiary told Androidworld last year that its flagships are becoming more important. The Motorola Edge X30 was the first to come out with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for a reason, but there’s more to come.
The Motorola Frontier has been leaked at the reliable TechnicNews and everything points to it being a premium phone that makes no compromises. The device will arrive later this year with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor and will have a 6.67-inch Full HD OLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate.
200MP main camera from Samsung
Motorola is going to work with a new showpiece from Samsung: the ISOCELL HP1 camera sensor, or the first 200 MP camera for smartphones. Traditionally, it is not Samsung itself that is the first to work with the new camera hardware, but the sensor will therefore be used in Motorola’s Frontier. Motorola also uses a 50 MP wide-angle camera, a 12 MP telephoto camera and a striking 60 MP selfie camera.
Finally, it is immediately obvious that the phone will work with a 125W fast charging technology, especially since it is the first time we will see that from Motorola. There are no other specifications and details about prices and availability. The phone is not expected to hit the market until the third quarter of 2022, when Qualcomm also released the overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Last week, more rumors surfaced about a new foldable Motorola Razr. What do you think of the Motorola Frontier with its remarkable specifications? Are you happy that Motorola is taking its flagships seriously again? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
