Motorola has introduced the Moto G Power (2022). It is the last member of the well-known G Power series. The device comes with a number of important improvements related to the screen, the performance and the camera.

The Moto G Power (2022) is a new budget smartphone from Motorola that received improvements across the board compared to the Moto G Power (2021). That phone was not launched in the Netherlands and Belgium last year and it is not yet clear whether the 2022 version faces the same fate.

He is announced with a 6.5 inch screen, a slightly smaller LCD panel, but one with a higher 90 Hz refresh rate. It has the same resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a screen notch in the middle. The case is made of plastic on the Moto G Power (2022), but it is equipped with a 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD slot and a fingerprint scanner on the side.

Faster performance, no 5G

Under the hood is a new chipset: the MediaTek Helio G37. It also gets a larger portion of RAM and storage, 4 GB / 64 GB and 4 GB / 128 GB. The phone will not work with 5G internet. The phone also has a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged with a 10W charger. The Moto G Power (2022) still comes with Android 11 out of the box.

Motorola has replaced the main camera of this budget phone: it has become a 50 MP sensor. The 2 MP depth camera and 2 MP macro camera are still there. There is also an 8 MP selfie camera.

The Moto G Power 2022 will go on sale in the US and Canada from early 2022. It is not yet known whether he will also cross the ocean to the Netherlands. It only appears in a black shade for the converted 212 euros (VAT included).
