MSI breathes new life into Titan series with GT77

MSI breathes new life into Titan series with GT77

It’s been a few years: MSI announces a new version of the Titan laptop series. At the time, these gaming laptops could compete well with gaming PCs. What about the new variant?

The Titan series hasn’t been updated in years. But at the MSIology event, the MSI Titan GT77 was officially announced. This will be one of the most powerful gaming laptops of 2022; possibly even the most powerful you can buy. Although the device is available in different configurations, you can of course immediately go for the most expensive model. What do you get in return?

Under the hood you will find the Intel Core i9-12900HX processor, as well as the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. Those parts are accompanied by four slots where you can store up to 128 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM. Combined, the laptop delivers a power of 250 watts, by also using MSI’s Overboost Technology†

Lots of power for the MSI Titan GT77

Although the laptop has a decent amount of power, the colossus only has one power supply. That speaks for the portability of the gaming laptop, as opposed to the weight. The MSI GT77 weighs just over three pounds.

On the back is an RGB light bar, while the keyboard is equipped with mechanical RGB and Cherry MX Ultra Low keys. In addition, there are four slots for M.2 SSDs, the screen has a refresh rate of 120 Hertz and the resolution is 3,840 by 2,160 pixels. This applies to all models, regardless of the configuration with which you equip it.

Price and availability

At the time of writing, the European prices for the MSI GT77 are not yet known. We are also still waiting for a Dutch release date. That data is available for the US market, which gives us some indication of what to expect.

The new Titan has a starting price of $3,199 (converted just under 3,000 euros, excluding VAT). You pay that for the model that you equip with Core i7-12800HX, RTX 3070 Ti, 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage space.

If you go for the model that offers everything it can offer, you just pay $ 4,949, or 4,630 euros (excluding VAT). The new Titan from MSI can be pre-ordered from now on. In the meantime, we are still waiting for news for the Netherlands.
