Cycling routes on the smartphone
Imagine: it’s Sunday, it’s going to be a beautiful day. You decide to load the bike on the back of the car and discover a new part of the Netherlands. You don’t have a map at home, but you do have a smartphone. With a handy holder for the bicycle, you can read a map from your smartphone while cycling.
Buy a bicycle holder for example online.
Save map to smartphone
Now it is of course expensive (and eats batteries) if you continuously download maps on the go via the mobile internet connection on your device. You can also view maps without an internet connection via the Google Maps app. To do this, you first save the map, for offline use as it is called. You must have a google account. With an offline map, you won’t get directions along the way, but you can find your way. GPS shows where you are on the map.
Download offline map
How to download offline maps with Google Maps is described step by step in the article ‘Use Google Maps offline’.
