Netflix has price increase announced for the Netherlands and Belgium, among others. New subscribers will immediately pay the changed price and this will now also be applied to existing subscribers. The subscription for Netflix Premium has become three euros more expensive.
The last price increase in the Netherlands was implemented in November 2021. This increase was already implemented in the United States, United Kingdom and France last fall. The current Prices range from €8.99 to €18.99 per month.
Price increase for Netflix
Prices for Netflix have increased significantly in the Netherlands and Belgium. You now pay €8.99 for the Basic subscription, which was €7.99. The standard subscription has been increased from € 11.99 to € 13.99. The Premium subscription has also increased in price to € 18.99 per month, from € 15.99. In Belgium, subscriptions are €1 more expensive than Dutch prices.
In addition, the Extra user subscription, intended for people who benefit from your subscription, has remained the same at € 3.99 per month. The price increase is not too bad; in France, for example, subscribers pay €19.99 per month for a premium subscription and €5.99 for an additional user.
In France, the subscription with advertising is also active, which has been increased by one euro to € 5.99 per month. This subscription is not yet active in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is expected that this subscription type will eventually replace the Basic subscription.
Also for existing subscribers
These prices apply immediately in the aforementioned countries to new members and will be gradually applied to all current members. Current members will receive an email notification 30 days before their price change unless they change their plan. If you no longer want to pay, you can cancel your Netflix subscription.
Differences between Netflix subscriptions
With a basic membership you can watch films and series in SD quality on a maximum of one screen. The Standard plan allows you to watch Netflix in HD quality on up to two screens at the same time. With a Premium subscription you can watch on 4 screens simultaneously, in ULTRA HD and Dolby Atmos.
