New on Netflix: December 2020

Netflix makes a slew of new series and films available every day. On iPhone we look ahead every month at the new offer with the best tips. These are often new series and films, but also old favorites that appear on Netflix.

1. The Prom

Ryan Murphy continues to work hard on Netflix productions, so you can watch the lavish The Prom in December. A group of Broadway stars (including Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman) travel to a small village to help a girl go to the prom with her friend.

2. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (season 4)

Unfortunately, it’s time to say goodbye to Sabrina and her friends, because the fourth season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is the end of this great series. But before it’s over, we’ll get eight new episodes on the last day of the year. Does the end of the series also mean the end of time?

3. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom

In his last years, actor Chadwick Boseman has worked hard. Among others in the movie Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, as the struggling musician Levee. The film is set in 1927, when Ma Rainey (played by Viola Davis) records a series of songs. Levee wants to put a more lively spin on the music, but the older band members disagree.

Airing on Netflix from December 18.

4. The Claus Family

Netflix has made a Dutch-Flemish Christmas film with De Familie Claus. The film is about the young Jules Claus, who wants nothing to do with Christmas. But when he finds a magical Christmas globe that teleports him to the far corners of the world, he learns a big secret: his own grandfather is Santa Claus. Is that enough to love Christmas anyway?

Airing on Netflix from December 7.

5. The Walking Dead (season 10)

Finally, you can watch the tenth season of zombie series The Walking Dead on Netflix. In this season, the survivors prepare for war against the Whisperers. By the way, this is not yet the complete season, because the filming went slightly differently due to the corona virus and six more episodes are planned for 2021.

Mariah Carey rounds up a bunch of friends, including Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Tiffany Haddish and Billy Eichner, to end the year in a festive way. Are you already singing along? “All I want for Christmas is …”

  • Wolfwalkers – December 11

This beautifully animated series tells an old Irish legend. About people who can talk to wolves through magic, and even turn into wolves at night.

Disney Plus update
