New on Netflix: September 2017

The Netflix offer is not fixed. New films and series are added every month and titles are regularly released. Every month we look ahead at the new offer on iPhoned and then pick the best for you. These can be older films and series that just appear on Netflix, or brand new titles. All you have to do is sit back and hit play. Our New to Netflix guide keeps you up to date with essential series and movies on the streaming service every month.

1. Narcos season 3

If you thought that Narcos ended after the second season, then you are in for a surprise this month. In season three you can expect the necessary changes. This time, the Cali Cartel is central, which was already introduced in the previous episodes.

While they went after drug lord Pablo Escobar, this cartel secretly managed to grow considerably. This time, there is not one drug boss, but four who are being chased by DEA agents. This third season will not be the last, as a fourth will appear on Netflix next year.

2. BoJack Horseman Season 4

Who would have thought that a cartoon series about a depressed and heavily drinking horse in Hollywood would be a success? BoJack Horseman is a hugely popular series that manages to maintain an excellent balance between comedy and drama. BoJack is extremely funny one moment and extremely sensitive the next.

With that it knows how to distinguish itself from other series, also because the set-up is so strange. In the world of BoJack Horseman people live, but also animals with a human body. One of the best animation series for adults and this season again promises to be a must-see.

3. American Vandal

Netflix has some cool true crime documentaries on its service, including Making a Murderer and The Keepers. Now there is a new series that fits in that vein, but a satirical version. The mockumentary series is about a student who decorated dozens of cars with penises. The designated suspect is Dylan Maxwell and the series investigates whether he really did.

Star Trek: Discovery

No lack of Star Trek on Netflix, because there are already a lot of older series of the popular science fiction series on the platform. With Star Trek: Discovery, a brand new series is added. It is not yet clear what exactly it is about. Netflix itself only speaks of ‘a new series, new characters and a new ship’. An episode is published every week. The trailer probably gives an impression of the new worlds and exciting adventures.

Airing on Netflix from 25 September

5. Midnight Cowboy

Fortunately, once again an older classic on Netflix. Sometimes the video service lacks that a bit, but with Midnight Cowboy a very nice film is added. In the film, cowboy Joe Buck (Jon Voight) moves to New York to get rich. He finds that, not in money, but in the form of a new friendship with Rarzo Rizzo (Dustin Hoffman). That’s a scammer who dares to dream. Together they try to survive in the big city.

6. All movies from the Twilight Saga

We just put them in the list: all films from the Twilight Saga can be found on Netflix this month. The five parts, which revolve around a student who falls in love with a vampire, include Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. If you have never seen them and are curious, then this is your chance to catch up with them all right away.
