New on Videoland: best series and films of September

Snowden

In 2013, Edward Snowden took a huge risk by leaking thousands of classified documents to a British newspaper as an NSA employee. This shows that the American secret service unlawfully collects massive data from innocent civilians. The service uses advanced software for this. The whistleblower faces years of imprisonment due to the leakage of state data, which is why Snowden decides to say goodbye to the United States early. First he travels to Hong Kong, after which he eventually turns to Russia. He lives in that country to this day. This true story can be seen at Videoland from 10 September.

Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project

On September 3, Videoland puts the documentary Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project online. The well-known reality star shows herself from a different side, because Kim Kardashian visits prisoners. The American television personality has long been critical of the legal system in her country. She is therefore arguing for changes in criminal law. Various detainees and their families are interviewed, whereby the inmates discussed have had an unfair trial according to Kim Kardashian and certain lawyers. This mainly concerns petty drug-related crimes, for which the perpetrators have been sentenced with severe sentences. This documentary lasts about two hours.

Harrow (seasons 1 & 2)

Harrow tells the life of renowned coroner Daniel Harrow. He does an excellent job and enjoys a good reputation for solving countless cases. Unfortunately, the pathologist also has shortcomings. He is less able to deal with sprightly people. For example, Daniel has no respect for authority at all, so he ends up in the strangest conflicts. His relationship with his supervisor is therefore not exactly flawless. Furthermore, the coroner has difficulty in maintaining contact with his ex-wife and daughter. Daniel carries a secret from a distant past with him and he does everything he can to put it under the rug for good. Both seasons can be seen from September 7. In total it concerns twenty episodes. Incidentally, a third season of this Australian series is also planned.

Love Life (season 1)

The new Love Life series will be available on Videoland from 25 September. The ominous love life of Darby is central to this. In every episode there is a love relationship, in which both the very beginning and the final break are reviewed. Will Darby manage to find the right one in one of the ten episodes? It is striking that each episode stands on its own. Darby is played by the well-known actress Anna Kendrick. A second season of this romantic series has already been announced.

Mother, I Want To Be At The Revue (season 1)

The Dutch drama series Mother, I Want At De Revue was shown on broadcaster MAX at the end of 2012. From September 24, the eight episodes of the first (and only) season will also be on Videoland. The story is set in the 1950s and features several songs by the well-known composer Wim Sonneveld. Bob is supposed to take over his father’s coal company, but the young man decides otherwise. He wants to be at the stage in the big city and soon manages to get a job as a help. Eventually Bob gets the chance to prove herself on the stage as a singer and actor, but then his girlfriend suddenly turns out to be pregnant. Will he manage to pursue his dream despite his impending fatherhood? Leading roles are reserved for Egbert Jan Weeber, Huub Stapel, Noortje Herlaar and Jon van Eerd.

Old trusted names

Traditionally, Videoland is adding various film classics again this month. In September enjoy well-known names such as Notting Hill, The Transporter Refueled, Bon Bini Holland 2, Rocky Balboa and Samba. Soap lovers can watch the first season of Gold Coast from September 4.
