The Notes app on iPhone is a common way to quickly take notes on your Apple smartphone. Moreover, it syncs to your Mac(Book) at lightning speed, for optimal productivity. You may not know these 5 functions yet.
With the arrival of iOS 16, the Notes app on your iPhone has also been improved. This often also applies to iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura. Several new features have been added, making it the ultimate note-taking app on your phone.
Notes iPhone: 5 features you don’t know yet
To quickly inform you about these new functionalities, or to introduce you to a number of useful new tricks, we have listed five useful ones for you.
#1 Quick note on your iPhone
Did you know that you don’t even need to open the Notes app on your iPhone if you want to add something? Just use the Partbutton within another app and choose Put in new quick note.
Then Notes will open automatically and you can add text and other things to it.
#2 Safe under lock and key
Sometimes you write something in the Notes app that you don’t want anyone else to see. Fortunately, you can safely put the note under lock and key.

Open the note and tap the three vertical circles in the circle. Then tap Lock. Then create or choose a password Use passcode from iPhone.
#3 Enlist the help of Siri
You don’t always have the time or inclination to pull out the Notes app on your iPhone. You don’t have to, because the smart assistant Siri can do this for you.
Just ask Siri to create a new note and she’ll help you right away. Then she asks what you want to put in it and processes your answer in the note. Easy!
#4 Smart folders
It is possible to create smart folders in your iPhone’s Notes app, which work based on tags. Similar notes are then collected together. Now even more has been added.
For example, you can filter on the date of creation or editing, but also on the presence of a checklist or lock.

#5 Create PDF from note
If you’d like to turn your note into a PDF file, there’s good news. This can be done very easily.
Use the Partbutton on a note on your iPhone and tap Markings. Ta-daa, your note has now been turned into a PDF, after which you can do whatever you want with it.
