Anyone who owns an Apple Watch can use new watch faces from watchOS 11. This year, strangely enough, there are no new versions added. However, Apple has drastically updated the Photos watch face and gives it more options to display your favorite photos in a special way on the Apple Watch.
The custom watch face can only be used in combination with an Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch SE 2nd generation, series 6 or newer. Unfortunately, the other models cannot install watchOS 11.
All new watchOS 11 watch faces
Anyone who hoped that watchOS 11 would add new watch faces will unfortunately be disappointed. This year there are no new versions added by Apple. The Photos dial has been drastically updated, we explain what has changed.
The clock face photos in watchOS 11 helps you choose the best photo options by quickly analyzing thousands of photos with machine learning. Furthermore, you can get recommendations based on the design, composition and even facial expressions. A custom algorithm then searches for the best composition by optimizing the position of the subject within the frame and creating depth.
You can further personalize the watch face by changing the size and format of the time, choosing a font, and more. As if that weren’t enough, the Photos watch face now has a dynamic mode that shows you a new image every time you lift your wrist.
Only for Apple Watch Ultra
Do you own an Apple Watch Ultra? Then you can use the Modular Ultra dial. This has an interactive border around the dial in which you can show additional data such as the seconds, altitude and depth. From watchOS 11, it will also have a Training edge, which shows deviations for vital functions and training load.
