The disadvantage of translucent covers is that they quickly turn yellow and do not always remain stylish. In recent weeks, I have tested the Urban Combat case from PanzerGlass especially for the beautiful design of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This comes from the sustainable CARE collection and has some interesting specifications and benefits.

You would think that a case is a case, and in general the design of an iPhone case is almost the same in most cases. Yet PanzerGlass distinguishes itself from other manufacturers.
For this review we tested the transparent iPhone 16 Pro Max Urban Combat Case with black edge and MagSafe. Quite a mouthful, but in short you can say that it is the Urban Combat Case. This is available in different versions.
The case is made of high-quality 100% recycled plastic and has shock-resistant corners that have been tested to optimally protect your iPhone up to a height of 4.8 meters. A raised edge for the screen and camera island provide extra protection. In addition, the case has a perfect cutout for the camera controller and the buttons are sturdy.
The design is stylish and slim, it does not make the iPhone unnecessarily thicker or heavier and that is a big plus. The transparent cover is available in different colors. I had chosen a contrasting black border, but white, silver and other colors are also possible. You have to like transparent cases because they tend to show the dust on the bottom.
Raised edge
The PanzerGlass Urban Combat case has a raised edge on the front so that it protects the iPhone’s screen when you place it with the display down, for example on a table. The raised edge means there is no direct contact if the iPhone is accidentally shifted.
This principle can also be found on the back. The raised ring around the camera ensures that the iPhone’s camera lenses are protected and that your iPhone sits firmly on the table without wobbling too much.
Shockproof frame
This PanzerGlass iPhone case has a shock-resistant frame made of a rubber-like material. This ensures that the corners can absorb a fall of up to 4.8 meters to minimize damage to your iPhone. The frame is finished down to the last detail with beautiful roundings and no ugly seams.
The iPhone’s buttons are accessible thanks to sturdy buttons that are incorporated directly into the case. The buttons are easy to press, but they do have openings on the sides. That is a special choice, because dirt can get in between. A dense solution would have been better.

Fingerprints are also present on the case, but that is the case with almost all iPhone cases made of this material. I can’t complain about scratches, they are barely visible and it seems that the cover is less sensitive to scratches.

I used the PanzerGlass Urban Combat Case for iPhone for the first time and I haven’t regretted it for a moment. The design of the case fits comfortably in the hand and the finish is excellent. The black frame not only looks stylish, it also offers extra protection. This way the corners can absorb a fall of 4.8 meters.
The finish has also been taken care of down to the last detail with beautiful rounded corners and edges. The camera control is precisely cut and the raised edge for screen and camera provide extra protection. Unfortunately, the buttons on the side have an opening where dust and dirt can accumulate.
The transparent PanzerGlass Urban Combat Case has a one-year anti-yellowing guarantee. As a result, the manufacturer promises that you can use the translucent cover for months without it turning yellow. A nice plus.
