Photos and videos taken with the Google Pixel 6 Pro’s camera have been leaked. We get to see them in a leak from a Youtuber, and it already gives an indication of the possibilities with the camera. What stands out are the excellent details in photos.
Pixel 6 Pro visuals
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been regularly treated to leaks about Google’s upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones. The manufacturer has already released information itself, but lately most of the information comes from Youtuber Brandon Lee from the channel This is Tech Today. This time we see action from the Pixel 6 Pro’s camera, including the periscope sensor that introduces 4x optical zoom.
On the images we see images taken with the 50 MP main camera. The images are in a 12.5MP resolution, which makes sense given the pixel-binning technology that combines four pixels into one with the 50MP sensor. When you crop images, the high level of detail is noticeable, and images look very natural. Less good is that some elements seem a bit too dark, and during filming it is noticeable that quite a lot of shocks can be seen when the user is filming while walking.
Important context
Yet there is a very important footnote to the images. First of all, because the images were made with a prototype of the Pixel 6 Pro; The hardware may be completely matched, but the phone does not yet work with the latest camera software. On the other hand, all the images have also appeared in a YouTube video, and the processing of that video also affects the quality. Finally, the filming was also done in a 1080p resolution.
This context is very important to keep in mind when looking at the images, but the video does give us a first insight into the possibilities with the Pixel 6 Pro camera. You can watch them for yourself in the video below on YouTube. The video starts exactly when the first images are shown.
