Best iOS Games August 2018

Plenty of new games will also be released in the summer. We dove into the new offer to see what is really worth this month. For example, you can build a city, be a hole and throw balls in another hole. In addition, King has a new game that is really worthwhile. What are you going to play?

1. Pocket City

In Pocket City you can build your own city. Think of SimCity, but made for smartphones. You start with the construction of residential areas, work areas and shops. Of course, roads also have to be made and electricity and water are important. While building and completing small assignments, you get more and more opportunities to expand and modernize your metropolis.

What is special is that the game was made entirely by one person. This game maker has confirmed to iPhoned that the game will be updated with new features in the future. The first addition will be the option to play on a larger map.

2. Donut County

In Donut County, the world is slowly disappearing through strange holes in the ground. You control these holes. As a hole you can initially only make small objects disappear in the separate levels. As you gobble up more and more objects, the hole will get bigger and more will fit in, until the entire level disappears.

Nice is that the game also adds puzzle elements. For example, the hole can fill with water that you have to empty, you have to shoot fireworks or set fire to objects. In addition to this crazy concept, the game also stands out for its wonderful humor. Each object has a funny description and the story is hilariously silly.

3. Holedown

Holedown is a bit like Breakout, but the other way around. You shoot balls down that have to hit blocks to play them away. You have to aim well, because you want to hit as many blocks as possible. Are you doing it right? Then there is a beautiful stream of balls that dance through the level. Through upgrades you get more and more balls and you also get deeper. Until you have fully mastered the game and it is all about the highest score.

4. Legend of Solgard

You probably know King from games like Candy Crush, so you may quickly write off the studio. That is not wise, because sometimes this game maker also knows how to surprise. Such is the case with Legend of Solgard. In this game you fight with monsters against a magical opponent. You do this by placing creatures on the battlefield and then placing them three in a row. This is not just another ‘match three game’, because you really have to think tactically about the placement. Especially because each monster has its own powers. Give the game a try and be surprised, because it is free anyway.

5. One Hour One Life

This is a somewhat more experimental game, in which you are born and have to survive in a tough world. In this world, every other character you encounter is a different player. You get a year older every minute and you can live up to 60 years old. However, it is not likely to get there, because survival is difficult. First you are dependent on your mother and later you have to manage on your own. It is an interesting concept that is somewhat held back by poor control. Still, it is more than worth it.
