Post photos to Instagram from your PC

Until recently, Instagram only allowed you to upload images from your smartphone, via the accompanying app. With detours it was already possible to share your best shots from your PC, but now this is just a standard part of Instagram. So you no longer need plug-ins or other tools. You can read here how it works.

Instagram is primarily a smartphone app, but of course there is also a web version. This way you can view the most beautiful photos in your browser, only uploading via this route was not an option for years.

Actually quite inconvenient, because many people put their smartphone photos first to their PC to give them a little extra shine with photo editing software. Now you don’t have to put them back on your phone before you can share them on Instagram. Just upload them from your PC as follows.

If you are logged in to Instagram, you will see a plus icon at the top of the screen. A pop-up will open, after which you click Select from computer clicks. Or drag the file from your disk to your browser, that’s also possible.

In the next window you can adjust the image size, or zoom in with the magnifying glass to make parts of the photo disappear. The icon on the far right allows you to upload additional snapshots. They will then be added to the same post.

Now you have arrived at the last step, which is to come up with a catchy text. It can consist of a maximum of 2200 characters, so fire away! The option Add location speaks for itself, Accessibility possibly not. Below you can enter a so-called alt-text, a descriptive text of what can be seen in the image.
