Every weekend you can follow the football matches from the Bundesliga and the Premier League via Viaplay, where 2 rounds have already been played with surprising results.
Viaplay has been bringing about 60 matches from international football competitions every weekend from Friday 5 August. As of the new season, the English Premier League has also been added to the package. The performances of, among others, Orange captain Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool and of course all the actions of Manchester United trainer Erik ten Hag can be followed closely on Viaplay. The Bundesliga, already on Viaplay since March, is also part of the total football package. The presentation of the studio program Viaplay Voetbal is in the hands of Koen Weijland.
First round
Round 1 of the 2022-2023 season was kicked off on August 5 from 8 p.m. with the match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Matthijs de Ligt’s Bayern Munich. Then on Saturday, August 6 from 1 p.m., Fulham against Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur versus Southampton and Everton against Chelsea were on the program. On Sunday, August 7, from 2 p.m., Erik ten Hag’s Premier League debut could be seen, where Manchester United were not doing well. Manchester United then played at home against Brighton and then Erling Haaland’s Manchester City went to visit West Ham United.
Premier League
The Premier League is generally regarded as the toughest and largest football competition in the world. Last season, Manchester City became champion of coach Pep Guardiola, after a long battle with Liverpool of coach Jürgen Klopp and defender Virgil van Dijk. These two clubs are also expected to be at the top again next season, but Manchester United are also being looked at, where Erik ten Hag has been appointed as the new trainer. Ten Hag can call on the Dutchmen Donny van de Beek and Tyrell Malacia, who came over from Feyenoord.
Bundesliga
Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga for the tenth consecutive time last year. In the new season, the ‘rekordmeister’ can count on Matthijs de Ligt, who was taken over from Juventus for around 70 million euros. In addition, Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch also make their appearance at the club. In total, there are currently fourteen Dutch players active in the Bundesliga, with Bayer Leverkusen having no fewer than four players with a Dutch passport under contract.
In addition to the Bundesliga and the Premier League, all matches of the English Championship and Bundesliga 2 can be followed on Viaplay. Full attention is also paid to women’s football with the Italian Serie A Femminile and the Swedish Damallsvenkan.
The presentation of the studio program Viaplay Voetbal is in the hands of Koen Weijland. In the new season, he will be assisted by analysts Jaap Stam, Cedric van der Gun and Simon Cziommer. The other analysts were recently announced: Nigel de Jong, Frank de Boer, John van ‘t Schip and Aron Winter.
