Preview: New iPad Pro 2022 coming
According to the usually reliable Apple analyst Mark Gurman, a new iPad Pro is on the way. He says that we can expect the new iPad Pro 2022 around the fall.
In his newsletter he looks back at the ‘Peek Performance’ Apple event. Apple did not show a new iPad Pro during this first event of 2022. Gurman expects new iPad Pros to arrive this year. In his preview, according to the Apple expert, the new iPad Pro 2022 will arrive between September and November.
iPad Pro 2022 release
The first iPad Pro appeared in March of 2016. The next Pro in June of 2017 and the successor in October 2018. The most recent models appeared in March 2020 and April 2021. So it takes on average about 13 to 16 months before Apple releases a new iPad Pro.
So if Gurman’s preview of the new iPad Pro 2022 proves true, it will take 17 to 19 months for the new jumbo tablet to appear. This means that the 2021 iPad Pro has not been upgraded for the longest time.
Upgrade with M2
There have been several rumors about the iPad Pro in recent months. Gurman also expects the new iPad Pro to get MagSafe and an M2 chip. According to the latest rumors, the M2 chip has 8 processor cores, just like the M1. But the new chip is faster thanks to a better manufacturing process and more graphics cores than the current iPad Pro.
