Razer develops expensive laptop for machine learning

Razer is working with Lambda on a very expensive laptop that is suitable for machine learning. The laptop is known as the Tensorbook and has a minimal price tag of just under 4,000 euros. You get very good specifications in return, of course.

Razer is a brand name that many computer owners are familiar with. This company mainly markets products for gamers, such as laptops and peripherals. Lambda is a lesser known name. The company mainly focuses on artificial intelligence.

For example, Lambda is responsible for PCs with deep and machine learning capabilities. Deep learning is a method of machine learning and is also based on neural networks. Anyway, the special collaboration results in a special product: the Tensorbook.

The Tensorbook, as the love baby is called, is actually a modified version of the Razer Blade Studio Edition, but fully equipped with high-end specifications. But also with Ubuntu Linux and Lambda Stack, the proprietary software for performing tasks related to machine learning.

High-end specs in Razer laptop

To be able to accomplish those tasks, the Tensorbook naturally has high-end specifications. Think of an Intel Tiger Lake Core i7-11800 processor, which has eight cores clocked at 4.6 GHz and the graphics processor Nvidia RTX 3080 Max-Q, with 16 GB of vram on board.

In addition, there is standard 64 GB of DDR4 RAM, as well as 2 TB of storage space on an SSD. All those specs are in a remarkably thin aluminum casing, which is heavily inspired by the aforementioned Razer Blade Studio Edition. In other words: not wrong.

Furthermore, the very expensive laptop is equipped with all kinds of connections. Think of a Thunderbolt 4 port and three USB-a 3.2 ports. There is also an HDMI connection and an SD card slot. Finally, there is also a headphone jack and support for WiFi 6e and Bluetooth 5.2.

The 80Wh battery has a promised operating time of nine hours. That should provide the 15.6-inch screen with enough energy for a full working day. That screen has a refresh rate of 165 Hertz, as well as a webcam with a 1080p resolution built-in.

What can it cost?

All those beautiful things cost a lot of money, of course. For example, the basic model costs 3,910 euros converted. You also get a one-year warranty and support. In addition, there is a version for 4,581 euros, with two years of support. The version with Windows will cost you no less than 5,588 euros.
