Facebook announces that the renewed Messenger app is making all kinds of improvements. The popular chat app is now twice as fast and also a lot smaller. The latter ensures that the app starts up faster and the update also goes faster. This is especially beneficial for users with a smaller data bundle.
The renewed app also introduces a completely new design, which looks clearer than before. The application is now divided into two tabs: Chats and People. With ‘People’, the Stories of your friends are more central, for example because larger images are used. In the pictures above you can see how the new app shows the Stories.
The ‘Discover’ tab of the old version, which used to be games, chatbots and companies, will disappear completely. These functions are still in Facebook Messenger, but can now be found via the search function of the app.
