An American four-legged friend is back with his owner after a life-threatening adventure. After a major flood, the fire brigade managed to save the dog’s life thanks to an AirTag.

It’s bound to happen: faithful four-legged friend Seamus escaped during a walk and fell into a large drain for the rainwater. The dog then ended up in a water basin and eventually managed to climb into one of the sewer pipes.

Luckily Seamus had an AirTag in his collar. This allowed the rescuers to find the lost dog. The Australian Shepherd was more than a mile from its original location.

The animal was eventually trapped, at the bottom of a sewer pipe. According to the Facebook page of the San Bernardino County Fire Department they were able to find the dog thanks to ‘his AirTag and an ID tag’.

Apple AirTag in a nutshell

Apple invented the AirTag for finding your lost stuff. The company does not recommend using the AirTag to track down your lost dog or cat.

AirTag

That’s because the AirTag uses other iPhones to display the location. The device itself does not have GPS functionality. Still, that hasn’t stopped dog and cat owners from putting an AirTag in their four-legged friend’s collar.

Do you also want to always be able to find your dog (or cat)? You can easily place an Apple AirTag in the Vulpes collar.
